Everything That Happens Will Happen Today

Allow me to say that I only vaguely knew who David Byrne was until he appeared on The Colbert Report last 22 March to play a song from Everything That Happens Will Happen Today (you can listen to the entire album for free), the second album he made in collaboration with Brian Eno. It’s an album with a blend of electronic and Gospel music, which Brian Eno describes as “music in which singing becomes the central event, but whose sonic landscapes are atypical of such vocal-centered tracks.”

After an interview with Stephen Colbert, David Byrne performed “Life is Long,” a song that’s become one of my favorites. I could play it on loop for a day and never get tired of it.
